More USS North Carolina

Some more pics of the USS North Carolina Battleship. Amazing to see all the jobs and the details required to make this ship function.

USS North Carolina

Ben and I took in a tour of the USS North Carolina Battleship while the girls went to Wrightsville Beach. Super interesting stuff! Loved it!

Carolina Beach

There are a few nice beaches in and around Wilmington. We took a drive down to the South of Wilmington and visited Carolina Beach.

Exploring Wilmington, NC

Very hot day, but a nice walk exploring Wilmington and taking in the sites. The table Elli is setting at is another One Tree Hill thing 😉

Reel Cafe - Wilmington, NC

Had a tasty lunch at Reels Cafe in Wilmington, NC. We went to Wilmington at Elli's request, as it was her senior year trip and her favorite show is One Tree Hill. I've been told that this restaurant was actually in a couple episodes.

More from Mount Vernon

Here are a few more pics from our tour of Mount Vernon, including the stables and picture of the slave memorial located on the grounds.

Painting & Repairs - Mount Vernon

Bad timing - Mount Vernon was being painted when visited, so we didn't get very good pics of it.

Mount Vernon

Today, we spent a couple hours taking in all of the sites that Mount Vernon had to offer. That's a pretty awesome view of the Potomac from George and Martha's front porch!

Game Night

Took in a blowout game between the Orioles and Ray's tonight. Rays won. Didn't care about the outcome as much as just being able to say that we have sat in Camden Yards and watched a game 😊

Fells Point, MD

We took the water taxi over to Fells Point a couple times. Lots of buildings dating back to the 1700s and cobblestone roads. Pictured is the Wharf Rat and The Horse You Came In On saloons. The latter claims that Edgar Allan Poe took his last drink here. I love that made up stuff😉 ...Speaking of facts that everyone knows, but me, I Just realized where the the Baltimore Ravens got their name...Poe...Raven..Duh😋

Inner Harbor - Baltimore, MD

Some random pics taken from the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. This is a popular spot for visitors and Baltimorians (I don't think that's a word 😋). This is also the location for picking up the water taxi, which we used a few times to travel back and forth to Fells Point.

More Pics of Fort McHenry

Fort McHenry

Ben and I took a tour of Fort McHenry on day 2 while the girls went shopping. This was the fort that Francis Scott Key was referring to when he began writing the Star Spangled Banner...Pretty neat!

Twin Shots from Tribe

This was pretty cool. Two of our Tribe (Cabrera and Kipnis) hit this pair of homeruns in nearly the same spot, 5 years apart.

Camden Yards Homeroom Warehouse

A pic of the crew at the Homeroom Warehouse at Camden. Very cool to see all the brass plaques imbedded in the concrete where several of my favorite Indians have hit homeruns.

Skywalk View of Warehouse

A view of the Warehouse at Camden Yards from the Hilton Skywalk at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Baltimore - Jen & Elli

Heading out to see some of the sites that Baltimore has to offer.

Camden Yards - Baltimore

Here in Baltimore for a Schools That Work Conference. Nice view of Camden Yards from it room.
